During the fall season, I love to get my exercise in by doing fun fall activities. Here are some seasonal ideas that the whole family will enjoy!

Go apple picking. You can then use the spoils for healthy meals and snacks.

Get lost in a corn maze. Trust me your kiddos won’t even think they’re exercising!

Play games. I love playing two-hand touch football.

Run a 5K. Fall is filled with shorter family races for charities.

Visit the farmers market. Get your steps in at your local farmers market and stock up on seasonal produce.

Move. Go for a hike or walk in the forest preserve to enjoy the fall foliage.

Collect colorful fall leaves and make a collage. Raking leaves also burns calories.

Plant bulbs in your garden for next spring. According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, the best time to plant tulips bulbs is in the fall, about six to eight weeks before a hard frost is expected.

Explore a pumpkin patch and choose your favorite pumpkin. You can then carve the pumpkin and bake pumpkin seeds.

Go on a family camping trip. The surroundings will be beautiful with the fall colors and there are fewer crowds and bugs.

Take a guided graveyard tour and learn about America’s spooky past. America is full of historical cemeteries.

Spend the weekend outdoors. Spend a Saturday or Sunday at a local autumn festival, dedicated to food, crafts, music, dancing, and art.
